Kapama Private Game Reserve is a vast wildlife sanctuary located in South Africa’s Limpopo province, bordering the greater Kruger region. Spanning more than 13,000 hectares, the reserve plays an important role in conservation while offering visitors an immersive experience in one of Africa’s most celebrated ecosystems. Once agricultural land, Kapama has been carefully restored to support a wide range of native species, including the Big Five.

The landscape is defined by open savanna, riverine forest, and rolling bushveld, shaped by seasonal rivers and acacia-dotted plains. Guided game drives provide close encounters with elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, and buffalo, as well as giraffes, hippos, and hundreds of bird species. The reserve’s size and low-density tourism model allow wildlife to roam freely, creating sightings that feel natural rather than staged.

Kapama’s atmosphere is calm, exclusive, and deeply connected to the rhythms of the bush. Evenings are marked by fading light, distant animal calls, and quiet reflection, while mornings begin with the anticipation of new tracks and fresh discoveries. It offers a refined yet authentic safari experience, where comfort and conservation exist side by side, and the focus remains firmly on the land and its wildlife.
