Pinnacle Mountain State Park is a protected recreation area west of Little Rock, Arkansas, centered on the distinctive summit of Pinnacle Mountain. The park covers more than 2,300 acres along the Arkansas River and combines forested slopes, rocky ridges, wetlands, and open river landscapes. Pinnacle Mountain rises above the surrounding Ouachita Mountain foothills and is one of the most recognizable natural landmarks near the state capital. The park's location provides a transition between urban Little Rock and the wooded hills of central Arkansas, with trails, picnic areas, waterways, and scenic overlooks available throughout the property.

The area has long been connected to Indigenous peoples, particularly the Quapaw, Osage, and Caddo, who used the Arkansas River Valley and surrounding lands. Later settlement brought farming, transportation routes, and other development to the region. Pinnacle Mountain itself is unusual geologically because its rocks were folded and uplifted before erosion shaped the present ridges and valleys. The park's interpretive programs explain both its natural history and its cultural connections. The nearby historic communities and river corridor also help place the mountain within the broader story of central Arkansas and the Arkansas River Valley.

The park's main attraction is the summit of Pinnacle Mountain, reached by several trails that provide different levels of difficulty. The West Summit Trail follows a rocky route toward the top, while the East Summit Trail climbs along a steeper ridge with broad views across the Arkansas River Valley. The Base Trail circles the mountain through forest and connects with other routes. Lake Maumelle lies immediately west of the park and adds boating and fishing opportunities to the area, while the Arkansas River forms another important part of the surrounding landscape. Wildlife includes white-tailed deer, wild turkey, foxes, and numerous bird species.

Pinnacle Mountain State Park does not have a distinct local cuisine of its own, but its proximity to Little Rock gives visitors access to the wider food traditions of central Arkansas, including barbecue, catfish, Southern comfort food, and locally produced ingredients. Picnicking is popular within the park, with designated areas near the visitor center and other recreation facilities. One of the park's most notable details is its variety of landscapes within a relatively compact area: rocky mountain slopes, hardwood forests, river lowlands, and lake country all occur nearby. The park also serves as an important outdoor recreation area for the Little Rock region.
